Total teaching experience of over twenty years in Urology and Surgery. This includes more than six years institutional teaching experience in Surgery after graduation and post-graduation. Job responsibilities included practical and theoretical teaching to undergraduates and postgraduates in surgery. The entire experience was in a reputed State Medical College (Government Medical College, Amritsar) and attached hospitals (1200 beds) which are recognized for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in surgery. Duties assigned included regular theory lectures and bedside practical case demonstrations. Further experience includes 3 years as a Senior Registrar in Urology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. This is a major postgraduate teaching and tertiary care referral center of international repute (1500 beds). Job responsibilities involved postgraduate teaching in Urology including regular theory and practical demonstrations, teaching rounds and symposia. The weekly schedule included 10-20 hours for these activities.

Presented guest lectures on E.S.W.L., Endourology and other topics in Urology at more than seventy state and national medical and urological conferences in India. Participated as a guest speaker in more than 35 “Continuing Urological Education Programmes” in various medical colleges and teaching institutions in India and abroad including the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi and Tribhuvan Medical University, Kathmandu, Nepal. (pages 38-42).

Two years teaching experience as clinical tutor in Urology at the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences, Kuwait University, Kuwait (1993-95).The teaching activities involved regular theory and practical sessions in Urology to the 5th and 7th year medical students. The responsibilities include ward rounds, multidisciplinary seminars, case discussions, endoscopic and operative urology sessions. Also functioned as the department academic coordinator for the Genitourinary Course to formulate and implement the practical and theoretical teaching programme in Urology. Major co-author with the Chairman of Surgery Department and the Dean of the Medical Faculty for an approved text book in Urology and Surgery published by the Kuwait University.

Further three years teaching experience as clinical tutor in Urology at the Faculty of Medicine, UAE University ( 1995-98). Coordinator of the academic theoretical and practical urology teaching for under graduate students. Significant contributions to the Type I and Type II teaching for the Senior and Junior Clerkship in Urology rotation over the last three academic years.
