Dr. Karim Elmasry is a British, Royal College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology dual accredited Obstetrician & Gynecologist and Subspecialist Gynecological Oncologist.
Having qualified from the University of Nottingham Medical School, he underwent training in Obstetrics and Gynecology in major teaching hospitals in Nottingham and London. He then undertook subspecialty training in gynecological oncology at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital, UK.
Dr. Elmasry has been in the UAE for the last 10 years working initially in the government sector and now in the private sector developing gynae-oncology services. Where he is the lead for gynae-oncology services at Mediclinic Middle East. In 2010 he was invited by the Department of Health of Abu Dhabi to be a founder member of the cervical screening task force. He has received many national and international awards for his work helping women with gynecological cancers including the 2015 ‘Al Wessam Champion’ (SEHA Best Physician category in the ‘Physician & Technical Award’ Category) and he is often asked to speak at international conferences and on TV and radio as an expert on this topic.
Dr. Elmasry is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at John’s Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore and Associate Professor at MBRU in Dubai and has numerous publications in peer reviewed journals.
