Dr. Shaima Al Fardan is currently holding the Head of Psychology Position at Camali Clinic in Dubai, UAE. Over the years, she has gained a range of experience in the UAE and in the USA focusing on trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, chemical dependency, relationship difficulties, LGBT issues, and domestic violence. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Kent, UK, followed by a Master’s degree in Mental Health Studies from King's College London, UK. She subsequently completed a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University(CSPP), California, USA and has become an EMDRIA Certified and Approved Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Consultant. She has worked in a variety of settings in the past 13 years including schools, public hospitals, community mental health clinics, private hospitals and private clinics. Her theoretical orientation for psychotherapy is integrative and based on the needs of the individual. She has received training in EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy.
